What a party! A boring show was livened up by a great group of friends for last night’s Academy Awards, and I had so, so, so much fun. Huge shoutout of course to my cohost Lissette, whose beautiful apartment served as party central. We had been prepping, brainstorming, and purchasing for weeks, and it all came together beautifully. But for me, it did not start so beautifully. Ahem:
Yes, I did this on purpose. But it looked good after, I swear!
Hello! Is everyone feeling jolly? I certainly was last night.
Sorry for the semi-blurry pic. I was especially jolly that I got this dress and the necklace for a total of $20 at Forever 21. That place has a lot of crap, let’s be honest; but it’s also big enough to merit wandering around now and then because you just might get lucky.
Hello there! Today was Fakesgiving (fake friends Thanksgiving), and it was a total success. Last year we had 4 people; this year we had 14 people! And so much wonderful food! We try to dress up because it’s just more fun, and that ends up making Fakesgiving more classy than my regular Thanksgiving, to be honest. Here’s what I wore:
This is almost head-to-toe New York & Company. Top: NY & Co. (size 6), pencil skirt: NY & Co. Collection (size 12).
Hey there! I’m off to a pumpkin-carving party (it’s B.Y.O.P.), so I’ve gotta make this quick, but here’s what I’m wearing:
Festive but hopefully not over-the-top!
I’m sort of crossing my fingers that fall is now officially here to stay, as that was another reason I think I’ve been off my blogging game lately (not dressing appropriately for the weather) and haven’t posted much, but here’s another simple, layered look.
Since layering this Merona dress to act as a skirt worked well the first time (what is that hair? oh right, the result of being impulsive), I tried it again. Honestly, I think I like it better as a skirt than as a dress.
Still adjusting to the new hair – I’m not 100% sold on it – and tried quite a few options over this dress this morning, but ultimately I settled on some autumn-approved corduroy.
Jacket: Ann Taylor Loft (size 6).
