Hello! Is everyone feeling jolly? I certainly was last night.
Sorry for the semi-blurry pic. I was especially jolly that I got this dress and the necklace for a total of $20 at Forever 21. That place has a lot of crap, let’s be honest; but it’s also big enough to merit wandering around now and then because you just might get lucky.
You gotta love early Christmas presents—
—especially when they involve ruffles.
Hello there! Today was Fakesgiving (fake friends Thanksgiving), and it was a total success. Last year we had 4 people; this year we had 14 people! And so much wonderful food! We try to dress up because it’s just more fun, and that ends up making Fakesgiving more classy than my regular Thanksgiving, to be honest. Here’s what I wore:
This is almost head-to-toe New York & Company. Top: NY & Co. (size 6), pencil skirt: NY & Co. Collection (size 12).
Well, after MUCH consideration, I submitted my original photo in the Mad Men casting call contest! Here’s a screenshot:
Click to vote daily! As you can see, I didn’t wear the dress I’d planned on (which was really more ’40s than ’60s) and didn’t even take photos in the downtown location I’d originally wanted to, but I’m happy with it. Thanks for the help, Katy! (Dress details here, shoes: Nine West.)
I’m going to share a lot more photos from the photoshoot, and I’m definitely interested in what you like, but PLEASE don’t tell me “You should’ve used THAT ONE!” As my friends know, I agonized over the decision much more than a 27-year-old should, trust me!
You caught me. I was absolutely eyeing that Honda Metropolitan and may or may not have sat on it. [Files not found.]
As you can see, I took some pics outside yesterday before my friend Tate‘s 25th birthday party. I really wasn’t sure what to wear since it was a casual BBQ early on & a cocktail party later – Tate himself had a costume change! – but I decided I’d just dress for the cocktail hour early. Because, let’s face it, it’s fun.
I have been in such a good mood today – it’s Friday! it’s my friend William’s birthday! and I love my look today! And this one is a genuine day-to-night, office-to-out ensemble, too.
You’ve seen this dress before, but that was in a most ridiculous, staying-in-on-Friday-night silly post. Not so today. No, today I feel I am done up right, if I may say so myself!
Sine hollyhock dress (size 8): Anthropologie, ruffled grey cardigan: Express, braided sandals for comfort and bug-bite-avoidance: Mossimo.
Happy Seis de Mayo!
What? That’s not a thing? Well then.
Just thought I would share a couple of cute new (and semi-new) purchases, both of which happen to be grey.
First up: today I am wearing my beloved Euro-retro dress (from this post), which is positively perfect for picnicking – but I wore a different belt with it.
Elastic grey belt with faux leather bow: H&M (size S), like $6 – I think I like it better than the black belt. Or is it too twee? What do you think?
