Hi! We actually had some sunshine this morning! Which made me start to break a sweat taking these pics, no lie. But was it nice and toasty warm outside, too? Noooo, of course not!
Oh well! Happy with this, which has quickly become one of my new favorite outfits – and it seriously cost $36.
Oh, hello! Let’s skip the I’m-a-bad-blogger part and get right to it, shall we?
My friend Julia invited me to a couple of concerts this week that I probably wouldn’t normally have gotten tickets for: 30 Seconds to Mars and My Chemical Romance – holy guyliner, Batman! But who can resist Jordan Catalano?! And who can turn down free shows? Not this girl!
While I am definitely not the, uh… key audience? for such shows, I thought I’d kinda “rock”-ify my hair a bit.
This is totally rock, right?
What a party! A boring show was livened up by a great group of friends for last night’s Academy Awards, and I had so, so, so much fun. Huge shoutout of course to my cohost Lissette, whose beautiful apartment served as party central. We had been prepping, brainstorming, and purchasing for weeks, and it all came together beautifully. But for me, it did not start so beautifully. Ahem:
Yes, I did this on purpose. But it looked good after, I swear!
Perhaps now and then you find yourself wondering, “What should I wear to an Egyptian-themed ‘three-quarters birthday’ party (planned only 4 days in advance) for which costumes are ‘strongly-encouraged’?”
Well, I don’t know what you’d wear, but I wore this:
I don’t know why this top (Express: size M) read vaguely Egyptian to me, but I didn’t have a lot to work with. I’d say it’s not bad for 4 days’ notice, right?
While I love this shade of OPI (Smitten with Mittens), OPI’s wear generally sucks. Notice all the chipping:
But instead of touching up or repainting completely, I had a silly idea.
It’s Pride weekend here in Chicago! My plans fell through last time around, so I’m excited to finally participate in the festivities this year. I’m not sure yet what to wear to the parade tomorrow, but I knew I wanted to do my nails up all rainbow bright!
So it’s not a true Roy G. Biv rainbow, but it’s close enough. Details ahead…
This is one of my favorite go-to nail colors in the red-pink realm: OPI’s Miami Beet, from the South Beach Collection. It’s just so bright & juicy! OPI is definitely not as good as the Sally Hansen Complete Manicure line, if you ask me, but I did this 5 days ago (with Revlon’s Quick Dry Base Coat and Extra Life No Chip Top Coat), and it’s clearly chip-free so far.
