Hope everyone had a great NYE! My night was, uh… eventful, to say the least! But I did rock the good old gold dress. And I made a post for it anyway.
From Express, years ago. It was just too perfect a party dress to pass up. And despite feeling like a stuffed sausage when I tried it on earlier in the week (ladies, you know it happens), I ended up feeling great in it.
Happy Emmy Awards 2010! Just a quick reminder that I’ll be livetweeting the preshow(s) & ceremony over at http://twitter.com/ShoesKid if you care to follow along at home.
Until then, however, here’s a look at one of my favorite party dresses:
This is, obviously, completely inappropriate for the likes of the Emmys (though I could see it being rocked at the Grammys). But isn’t it awesome?
I went to two different Gaps tonight to scope out merch that I might be able to use my killer 50% off Groupon on, but I only found one cardigan I really loved; and since you have to use the entire coupon at once (can’t split up your purchases like a gift card), I decided to wait and save it.
That doesn’t mean I left empty-handed, though, especially since they were throwing around 30% off coupons!
So I got this!
“What is it?” you ask? A bag! And what’s inside? Let me show you.
“Ah, crap, I forgot a necklace.”
No, really – that was my thought here as I had begun taking pictures and walked to stop the cam & fix this egregious error. Oops!
Another dress you’ve seen already (about a month ago), but once again today the point isn’t in the dress itself necessarily but the accessories:
I expressed my love of this black Merona pintuck shirt dress (size M) from Target in this post, so click that if you care for the full details. And sadly, my feet are still jacked up from bites (the itches are numbing, slowly), so I’m once again in my flip-flops, which is annoying. I’d have loved to pop some color down there.
For some reason I tied the tie on the opposite side today, and I don’t know if I simply didn’t tie it tight enough or what, but I look a little wide this time, don’t I? Maybe it’s my posture. Because from another angle, it looks fine.
Happy Monday morning! Are we off to a good start? It seems like everyone has been spouting a lot of negativity lately (myself included), and I, for one, am tired of it. It’s a new week, and, like Anne Shirley says, tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it! (No mistakes in it yet.)
It genuinely does help me get through the Mondays when I feel better about how I look, and I think I succeeded in that today:
Deep gunmetal grey & sage green print dress: Simply Vera (size 10), tan cropped jacket: Mossimo (size M).
Memorial Day weekend means it is finally feeling like summertime in the city, and I have been maximizing my time and especially FUN to the extreme. Saturday was particularly jam-packed, hitting up IML (International Mr. Leather conference – purely for the people-watching, which was just as hilarious as we anticipated), then visiting our friend Tate at Louis Vuitton (my first time in the store – we got champagne!), then shopping with William, then off to Pops for Champagne with the boys, followed by Kit Kat and Piehole Pizza. Whew! And during all that running around, I wore this:
Totally casual, nothing super special – jeans: L.e.i., gladiator sandals: Steve Madden, chain bracelet (a nod to IML): H&M, maroon tank: Greensource (size S).
