hair time again

It’s that time again…

Time to refresh my faded, boring ‘do.

back to blonde, part 2

You saw the first step in my friend Jamie’s process of returning from a year as a redhead back to her natural blonde here. When she came over Wednesday night, we sort of spontaneously decided to attempt lightening it up even further.

After much mulling it over and weighing of options, we ended up with L’Oréal Couleur Experte 8.2 Iced Meringue: Medium Iridescent Blonde. Here’s the result:

The reddish tones are still peeking through – and some of the red was ridiculously obstinate and refused to change at ALL – but it’s definitely more of a multi-tonal blonde now.

$10 de-redifying

After doing my own hair and then Julia’s hair, tonight I also did Jamie’s hair.

She’s a natural blonde who went red about a year ago. While it looked great on her, red is a lot of upkeep – fades the fastest and costs an awful lot professionally – and she’d been toying with going back to blonde for a while now.

holy highlighting weekend, batman!

Meet Julia and Laz.

Julia’s a happy chick, but she wasn’t 100% happy with her haircolor and wanted to switch it up. So I went to her place early tonight before our Dexter party to work my outta-the-box magic.

autumnal transition

You may have noticed a little lapse in posts here. In all truthfulness, I haven’t been feeling 100% super fantastic about myself lately – it happens to us all from time to time, wouldn’t you say?

And sometimes when you’re feeling blah about the way you look, it’s time for a change. While I did initially love my color the last time I did it (the 2nd most-visited post on this blog), that was 3 months ago now, and the outgrowth has been showing itself once again, despite my attempt at lowlights to reduce this. Combine the blah feeling with fall fast-approaching, and it seemed like the time to try something darker. Why not?

$30 dye job

So my roots have definitely been showing themselves lately:

Rude little things. And the rest of my hair has seemed a bit too brassy & one-dimensional for my liking, so I decided to attempt color, highlights & lowlights on my own tonight.

warning: contains violet content

Just another belted cotton dress today, but it’s hot & humid & oh, did I mention Friday? I had such a difficult time waking up this morning. Anyone else? I just stood in my bathroom leaning against the counter for like 5 straight minutes at one point, blinking. Fact: I need more sleep. However… plenty of time to sleep when I’m dead. ;)
