I saw this guy on the red line this morning and knew immediately I HAD to feature him in I-Spy. I was positively in love with his get-up from the get-go.
Even with my love of prints & patterns, I probably never would have thought to pair a multicolored argyle sweater with a soft, paisley-ish floral collared shirt. But I think it 100% works and is so eye-catching. If he were straight, I’d totally date a guy who dresses like this. Who doesn’t love a risk-taker?
This guy is possibly the biggest badass I’ve ever seen on the el:
That leather jacket. Those shades. The crest pin – I’m heartbroken that my sneaky cell photo didn’t pick up the dazzling rhinestones in that stripe because, let me assure you, they sparkled plenty.
He made my day.
I’ve been on a roll with scoring free advanced movie passes lately: last week, The Town; tonight, Buried (tomorrow, You Again – eh, it’s free – and next week, The Social Network). While my friend Katy and I were still reeling from the intensity of 1.5 hours of Ryan Reynolds in a box* during our trek home, we witnessed this:
My phone was dead, so Katy snapped this pic on her BlackBerry. Let me break it down for you: this jacket was an awesomely bad patchwork collage. You can see the E.T. logo; there was a kitty on the lower right (which is what first caught my attention); and I didn’t even notice her beautiful self-assessment across the bottom: BITCH IN CHARGE!
Shakin’ my head with a smile – whatever makes you happy, lady!
* As for Buried, I’m not sure I’ve ever been so physically affected by a movie before. Katy & I both had stomachaches, tightened chests, and racing hearts by the end, yet I’d absolutely recommend seeing the film. Terribly impressive performance from Ryan Reynolds (whom I wasn’t sure could pull this off) and almost uncomfortably real yet innovative filmmaking. If you think you’re up for all that, definitely check it out.
Haven’t done one of my CTA “I Spy” posts in a while, so how ’bout it?
The first is a little change of pace – nothing to mock here, folks. This gal looks flawless, head to toe:
Perfect, shiny hair; gorgeous coat (with which she paired a killer thick belt); lovely, bright bag and scarf; great tights & booties. Pretty sure the booties are the suede version of my Simply Vera booties actually! Her makeup was also flawless.
So, young lady, whoever you are: WORK IT. You look fierce, and I applaud you.
Now let’s move on to this businessman…
SPOTTED ON THE RED LINE: SOMETHING AWESOME
Can you tell what?
Can you spot the fashion faux pas here that irks me like no other?*
*Well, maybe not like NO other, but a whole heckuva lot anyway. And no, it’s not the sneakers. I’m not that snobby.
o deer, what have we here?
In person, the colors of that fur monstrosity were truly spectacular, I assure you.
