a lady & a gentleman

Haven’t done one of my CTA “I Spy” posts in a while, so how ’bout it?

The first is a little change of pace – nothing to mock here, folks. This gal looks flawless, head to toe:

Perfect, shiny hair; gorgeous coat (with which she paired a killer thick belt); lovely, bright bag and scarf; great tights & booties. Pretty sure the booties are the suede version of my Simply Vera booties actually! Her makeup was also flawless.

So, young lady, whoever you are: WORK IT. You look fierce, and I applaud you.

Now let’s move on to this businessman…

Middle-aged man in a suit with his BlackBerry and today’s Wall Street Journal. Typical. Presentable. Appropriate. Right?

Now, I know there are some truly heinous ties in the universe, and this one is not so much heinous as it is, well… I’ll show you.

If you can’t tell, those are TINY RHINOS! Wha?! I have heard of a bear market and a bull market but never a rhino market. (Heh heh!) This tie simply amused me, so I had to take a pic. Maybe he works for the Lincoln Park Zoo!

Have you seen anything noteworthy on the streets or public transit lately?

No, but I did attend the Kalamazoo International Medieval Conference recently. 3000 medievalists all in one place. You can’t even IMAGINE the fashion atrocities. I saw a woman wearing a vest of Bayeux tapestry patterned fabric. ACK.
