simple shower chic

Heading home again this weekend for my good friend Elizabeth’s bridal shower, I opted for a simple top & skirt on this sunny (thankfully!) Saturday:

Brown V-neck tee: Gap favorite tee (size S), brown & black paisley and floral white skirt: Merona (size 12). I felt rather prim and proper in this, in a fun way. It’s nice to feel girly sometimes, and what better occasion than a bridal shower?

Studded tan leather flats: Nine West.

Continued the prim feel with a brown headband with bow from New York & Company, and I popped some blue against the brown with earrings from Target and, yyyep, the turquoise pendant from TJ Maxx! Hey, I went almost a week without wearing it – that’s pretty good, right?

Check the bride-to-be:

I unfortunately didn’t get a better picture of Elizabeth’s outfit, but she looked cute as a button in her floral dress from Francesca’s and white cardigan, which looked “too Easter Sunday” on their own, so she added a skinny orange belt over it. I wonder where she got such a stylish idea! ;)
