the bold & the ruffled

purple sweater, green tee, grey ruffled skirt, originally uploaded by hereslookingatshoeskid.

This is absolutely my new favorite outfit.

I really love this bold color combo of purple & chartreuse. It’s different and not the norm and just makes me happy. I was also really unsure on this skirt – H&M only had a few sizes left, and this was both snug and perhaps a bit short – but I got it anyway, and I’m so glad I did. I always get compliments on it, and pairing it with tights and flats makes it feel less short.

The Nine West embellished flats are so chic and comfy. I have them in tan, too.

And the fantastically sparkly disco ball-style pendant is another great new piece from American Eagle. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with their jewelry this season. A+ work, AE.

Also been wearing out this synthetic grey Nine West bag that has both gunmetal and gold accents & great pockets:

Oh, and bracelet is from H&M, a few years ago. Chains, rhinestones, and pearls – I love it.

Purple sweater: NY & Co. // chartreuse boyfriend tee & black Assets tights: Target // ruffled grey skirt with metallic threads: H&M // sparkly ball pendant necklace: American Eagle //  studded black leather flats: Nine West

I’ve also added a poofy, Blair Waldorf-esque headband (from Ann Taylor Loft) to this look before, but that might be just a little too much. Then again, sometimes a little too much is a lot fun.

But for Fakesgiving – that’s friend Thanksgiving – I wore a rhinestone headband from Ann Taylor Loft. Gosh, didn’t we all look so darn spiffy?
