the perfect jacket & a signature necklace
A well-fitting jacket is an essential part of any wardrobe. Having long been on the hunt for one, I was beyond pleased to have hit the jackpot at Ann Taylor Loft with this aubergine corduroy jacket.
It wasn’t cheap, unfortunately, but the color and fit were so great that I felt it was worth it.
Great quality, love the buttons, and it has a belt/tie-piece that goes all the way around the waist & buttons in the back. I loved it so much I had a hard time deciding between the aubergine – striking and unique – and classic khaki, which is obviously much more versatile. I went with the aubergine… and then ended up going back for the khaki too. ;P When you find the perfect one, why not?
Also: how much do I love purple and mustard? So much!
The necklace, by the way, has kind of become my signature accessory. It’s an Illinois state quarter – hand cut, polished, & hanging as a pendant – that I ordered from a very talented Michigan artisan named Jack Landstra via his etsy shop, CreativeCutCoins.
I loved it so much that I ordered an Arizona one for my cousin who lives there. Then, after seeing mine, a friend ordered Illinois and Florida necklaces for herself and as a gift. Personally, I think the Illinois one is particularly stunning because of the star border – it’s just really striking – but he has a lot of great pieces in his store. The chains aren’t the greatest quality (my friend’s already broke), but that’s easy to upgrade to whatever you like. What you’re paying for is the awesome craftsmanship. I highly recommend checking him out!
